Our Staycation at Pacific19: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Kona
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a peaceful retreat while still putting you in the heart of everything Kona has to offer, Pacific19 is the spot! Drew and I (Brooke) recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend there, and it was everything we needed and more—a perfect balance of relaxation, adventure, and island vibes.
Prime Location
Pacific19 is located in the heart of Kona, just a short walk from Ali’i Drive, where you’ll find all the shops, restaurants, and beaches you could ever need. The best part? Once you step onto the property, it feels like a peaceful oasis. You’re close enough to walk to the action, but tucked away just enough to enjoy a sense of seclusion and calm.
What We Loved About It
There’s a lot to love about Pacific19, starting with their thoughtful amenities. We took full advantage of their free bike rentals and cruised around Kona at our own pace, which was a fun and easy way to explore the area. We also biked to an early dinner (which was so much easier than finding parking!)
Note: bike rentals need to be returned by 7pm for safety purposes!
One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful yoga class they offer every morning next to the pool on this beautiful terrace. The yoga class is included with your stay! So feel free to join every morning with ease, you just need to sign up at the front desk. It’s a gentle, peaceful way to start the day, and the class is held outside, surrounded by nature. It was exactly what we needed to get centered and energized for the day ahead.
And of course, we couldn’t resist a quick dip in the pool. It’s the perfect spot to cool off and unwind after a few hours of exploring. Nothing beats lounging by the water with a cold drink in hand.
Coffee, Tea, and Local Flavors
Drew loves coffee, so we were so excited to start each day with free Kona coffee in the lobby. There’s something special about sipping on local coffee while planning your day’s adventures. Plus, right outside, there’s a cute coffee truck that serves delicious mamaki tea (my favorite!) and locally sourced coffee—definitely a must-try.
When it comes to food, the concierge was super helpful and gave us a list of top restaurant recommendations. Some of the places were even new to us, and we were so glad to have tried them. Whether you’re looking for casual eats or something a bit more special, Pacific19 helps you find the best of Kona’s culinary scene.
The Room: Cozy, Cool, and Comfortable
Our room had that 70’s boho vibe that we can’t get enough of—relaxed, stylish, and so cozy. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The vibe was warm and inviting, and the space was just the right balance of comfortable and stylish. After a full day of island adventures, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge.
The Spaces You’ll Enjoy
The lobby is clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious, with plenty of spots to sit and lounge or even get some work done if you need to (but, let’s be real, you’re on vacation, so probably not). There are also these lovely grassy courtyards tucked between the buildings, which made for a peaceful retreat whenever we wanted to unwind and enjoy a little quiet time. It really felt like we had our own little slice of paradise.
